Zulu Tribe Instruments

The Umakhweyana was used a lot by the Zulu people. One song that was typically played with it was called Bloemfotein. A love song that is popular with Zulu culture about a man going to find work in Bloemfotein, after which he doesn't write her. You would play it by either plucking or scraping the string.

The Mbira is another very popular instrument in the Zulu culture. As you can see it looks like what we would call a xylophone and you would play it similarly.

These are just a few examples of the Zulu tribe. They also use the Nkoko which is the drum as well as flutes called Pedi.
